Charts and pictures

Nooxl Apps automatically scans your model's spreadsheet for Excel charts and pictures and shows them in the app — as long as they sit in cells that are part of a tab page.

Supported picture file types

  • JPG
  • PNG
  • BMP
  • SVG
warning

Transparency in SVG and PNG is not supported — transparent areas show up black.

Supported chart types

Not every Excel chart type is supported. In general:

  • Supported: 2-D column / stacked column, line and stacked line variants, clustered and stacked bar, area and 100% stacked area, scatter (and most XY variants), bubble, most stock charts, radar with markers / filled radar.
  • Partially supported: line/area/scatter with markers and some 100% stacked variants; radar charts render but axis labels are not shown (they do export correctly).
  • Not supported: all 3-D chart types, pie/doughnut variants, filled map, surface, treemap, sunburst, histogram/pareto, box & whiskers, waterfall, and funnel.
note

Trendlines inside a bubble chart are not supported.

Tips for working with charts

  • Blurry charts: Nooxl renders charts at their original Excel size and aligns them to cells, so a chart not aligned to cell boundaries can appear stretched/blurry.
  • A chart is missing in Design mode / the app: charts are placed as cell content, so two charts cannot share a column or row — the second one is ignored. A chart that ends in a hidden column is also dropped.
  • Align charts to cells precisely: in Excel, select the chart, enable Snap to Grid on the Format tab, resize the chart so it ends on cell borders, then reduce its height and width by 0.01 cm.
